North Carolina is known for some truly prestigious golf courses, from the Pinehurst Resort to the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro. And when it comes to spectacular courses, Clayton is no slouch. Here are our top 3 favorite golf courses in Clayton, NC.

1. Pine Hollow Golf Club

Pine Hollow has been open since 1968 and is a par-71 golf course that measures 6,508 yards from the back tees. What we love about this course is that it’s a manageable length: perfect for a day out at the golf course. It’s in a beautiful location, so you can enjoy the scenic views while you play. They also have a driving range to help improve your swing or just get warmed up for the day.

2. Riverwood Golf Club

This golf course is home to 7,200 yards of golf course. With 27 holes of varying difficulties, this course appeals to golfers of all levels.

There are a variety of golf membership programs, so you can not only have access to Riverwood Golf Course, but also Hedingham Golf Course in Raleigh, NC.

3. The Neuse Golf Club

Business week and Golf Digest ranked The Neuse Golf Club as the 2nd best public golf course in North Carolina, and The Neuse Golf Club has consistently received a 4.5 star rating by Golf Digest for “Places to Play.” And the nice thing about The Neuse Golf Club is that there are challenges for golfers of all proficiencies. So no matter your skill, you’re sure to find a course for you.

With full food service on site for breakfast and lunch, you won’t have to worry about what to do for lunch. And while the high season is from April until June and then again in October and November, The Neuse Golf Club is open all year long! Which means the only thing between you and the green is how cold you’re willing to be. 😉
