Get in the Seasonal Spirit with These Fall Events around Clayton

The weather has finally cooled off, and fall is in full swing. As the leaves change colors and pumpkins take over, the community calendar around Clayton fills up with things to do!

Here are our favorite fall events around Clayton that you won’t want to miss out on.

Clayton Harvest & Music Festival

When: October 30th – November 3rd

Where: Downtown Clayton

What: The Clayton Harvest & Music Festival is probably the biggest event in town, featuring five days filled with food, entertainment, and fun. Around 30,000 people gather in Downtown Clayton for carnival rides, a BBQ competition, live music, car shows, and the largest vendor fair in Johnston County.

Halloween Hayride

When: October 25th, 3:30pm – 5:30pm

Where: Clayton Community Park

What: For a fun fall outing with just a hint of spookiness, check out the Halloween Hayride! It’s perfect for kids and adults of all ages, and you can meet Halloween characters, win prizes, and play games as you take a hay ride around the park. Admission is $5 for kids over the age of 2 and free for adults!

Downtown Clayton Trick-or-Treat

When: October 31st, 2pm – 3:30pm

Where: Downtown Clayton

What: Whether you own a Downtown business, have some kiddos to take out for treats, or just want to see the costumes, the Downtown Clayton Trick-or-Treat is the place to be! A long-time Clayton tradition, the downtown area will be flooded by little ghouls, goblins, and ghosts as they go door to door gathering treats from local businesses. After the trick-or-treating is over, gather in Town Square for fun games and goodies.

The Shindig

When: November 2nd, 11:30am – 10pm

Where: Clayton Town Square

What: If you’re a fan of live music and local brews, then you’ll love what the Shindig has to offer. An all-ages festival in Clayton Town Square, the Shindig will feature live music from bands like the Larry Keel Experience and Acoustic Syndicate, as well as tons of locally brewed drinks and food trucks to enjoy while you listen. Admission is totally free, so you won’t want to miss out on this event!

Plus, any proceeds that the event makes go straight back into community projects, courtesy of the Clayton Mid Day Rotary Club!
