Cold Weather Attractions Around The Walk at East Village

There’s always something happening in Clayton, and plenty of fun to be found, no matter the time of year or the season. If you’re looking for a way to get out, get active, and have some fun, you’ll find plenty of ways to enjoy the mild winter weather. Here are some of our favorite cold weather attractions around The Walk at East Village.

Clayton Farm and Community Market

The Clayton Farm and Community Market runs throughout the year. During the summer, it’s held weekly, but you can still shop fresh and local from November through March every other Saturday. Just head over to Downtown Clayton from 10am – 1pm to browse local produce, foods, goods, crafts, and more.

The Clayton Center

Located right in Downtown Clayton, The Clayton Center hosts a variety of workshops and performances throughout the year, so it’s definitely worth keeping an eye on their schedule for upcoming events. This winter promises to have plenty to offer, with two plays on tap for February, and several classes and workshops for March.

Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts

Love arts, culture, theatre, or music? You’ll definitely want to check out what’s coming to the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts. It’s just 25 minutes from The Walk, and it hosts a huge variety of shows and performances throughout the year.

Currently on the schedule: The North Carolina Opera, Move It Raleigh, Rhapsody in Blue, North Carolina Symphony Orchestra, and more.

The Ritz Raleigh

Looking for something a bit more edgy? Check out some of the shows coming to The Ritz in northeastern Raleigh. This smaller venue features a number of bands and musical performers in a more intimate space, and is even available for private rentals and parties.

Reynolds Coliseum & NC State Women’s Basketball

Love college hoops? Reynolds Coliseum is just 30 minutes away on the NC State campus. Head over to cheer on the local team during Wolfpack home games… or spark a little old-fashioned college rivalry when your alma mater pays a visit.

PNC Arena & the Carolina Hurricanes

Okay, this one’s a bit more of a drive, but it’s well-worth the 35 minutes in the car to see a pro hockey game in action! Whether you want to cheer on the ‘Canes or you have your own favorite team, you’ll find the games both exciting and laid-back, the perfect atmosphere for enjoying good sports with good friends. You can even catch free practices open to the public!

PNC Arena & NC State Men’s Basketball

Want to catch some of the big names in men’s college b-ball in action? Head over to PNC Arena for a Wolfpack basketball game—and tons of local fan support (just be careful whose colors you’re wearing!). Some upcoming games include Louisville, Duke, Florida State, and Wake Forest.
